Our business started with our Grandfather Archie. As a young boy who grew up during the early 1900's, Archie watched our world industrialize, and with that, he seen opportunity. As automobiles became the norm, so did car accidents, break downs, and repair shops. Archie saw this as an opportunity, and after he returned from World War II he started a small body shop in Belmont NC. He found success in the little town outside of Charlotte and decided to expand. His first step would be the purchasing of a Ford Wrecker Tow Truck. With this tow truck he was able to start removing vehicles from the site of an accident as well as towing them into his body shop for repairs. After a year or so he was flooded with demand, so much so, that he decided to split the two businesses and run them separately. And that's how we ended up here, Gaston Towing & Transport.
